A storm remembered across Kings Heath

KHBA's original account reported that 19 people were injured, including three seriously. It recorded damage to hundreds of properties in Kings Heath and said the Met Office estimated that winds may have reached 130 mph.

Emergency teams searched damaged buildings, while uprooted trees and structural damage affected streets across the area. People made temporarily homeless were offered emergency shelter during the response.

Why this page has been restored

The page disappeared during later website changes, but its subject is part of Kings Heath's local history. KHBA restored the URL during the 2026 website migration so old references remain useful instead of ending at an error page.

This concise version preserves the substance of KHBA's earlier report. You can also read the archived original.
